India, Sept. 1 -- Mukka Proteins Ltd has outlined its plans to expand its Bengaluru wet-waste processing operations, using Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) technology to convert municipal organic waste into value-added products such as insect protein, oil, compost and humic acid.
The company currently processes around 200 tonnes per day (TPD) of organic wet waste and plans to increase capacity to 400 TPD by March 2027, before scaling up progressively to 1,000 TPD by December 2027.
Through an automated bioconversion process, Black Soldier Fly larvae can reduce the mass of organic waste by around 80 per cent over a 10–14 day cycle, transforming it into stabilized biomass and other usable bio-derivatives.
