India, March 18 -- The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has introduced several technological initiatives to modernise the National Sample Survey (NSS), significantly improving data collection, processing, and dissemination.

Primary data collection is now carried out through digital platforms using Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) and web-based applications with built-in validation systems. These platforms enable real-time data submission, ensure consistency at the collection stage, and offer bilingual interfaces in Hindi and English. In select surveys such as CAPEX, ASI, and ASUSE, chatbot-based features have also been introduced to assist respondents and field officials.
