India, May 5 -- Larsen & Toubro has secured a large order through its Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore business from Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Ltd for a coal-to-ammonium nitrate project in Odisha.
The project involves setting up a Nitric Acid and Ammonium Nitrate plant on a lump sum turnkey (LSTK) basis, with end-to-end responsibility. Once operational, the facility will convert coal into ammonium nitrate with a production capacity of 2,000 tonnes per day, catering to demand from mining, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
The scope includes process licensing, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, performance testing, and final handover of the plant.
