India, July 2 -- Indian Railways recorded strong operational performance in June 2026, with freight loading rising 4% year-on-year and passenger traffic continuing to grow, reflecting sustained improvements in logistics and rail connectivity.

During the month, Indian Railways transported 142.21 million tonnes (MT) of freight, up from 136.71 MT in June 2025. Freight earnings also increased by 3%, generating an additional Rs 430 crore in revenue over the corresponding month last year.

Among key commodities, fertiliser loading rose 19.1%, Balance & Other Goods increased 17.3%, iron ore grew 9.4%, clinker advanced 7.2%, while domestic coal and total coal loading rose 4.9% and 3.6%, respectively.
