India, June 17 -- Indian Railways has approved the doubling of the 49-km Adipur-Bhuj section of Western Railway in Gujarat at an estimated cost of Rs 493 crore, aimed at enhancing capacity and strengthening rail connectivity in the Kutch region.

The project forms part of Indian Railways' broader network augmentation programme and is expected to support rising passenger and freight traffic in the region. The Adipur-Bhuj stretch, currently a single-line route on the Gandhidham-Naliya corridor, is set to witness increased traffic following the completion of several ongoing railway projects, including the Bhuj-Naliya gauge conversion and new rail links connecting Naliya, Jakhau, Lakhpat and Luna.
