India, Aug. 25 -- Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held discussions in Tokyo with senior executives from leading Japanese financial institutions, including MUFG, Development Bank of Japan, Mizuho, Morgan Stanley, Nomura and Nippon Life, to strengthen long-term investment flows into India.

The discussions focused on India's economic outlook, emerging investment opportunities and ways to make it easier for Japanese institutional investors to participate in the country's growth. Goyal highlighted India's 7.7% economic growth last year and its ambition to become a USD 30 trillion economy by 2047.
