India, July 6 -- The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has won the Gold Award in the Innovation by Use of AI and Other New Age Technologies for Providing Citizen-Centric Services category at the National Awards for e-Governance 2026 for its flagship ICMR-MINDS initiative.
ICMR-MINDS is a national health research project focused on integrating the screening and management of mental and substance use disorders with other non-communicable diseases. Its AI-enabled Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) empowers trained frontline healthcare workers to deliver standardised mental health screening, assessment, follow-up, and routine care using evidence-based digital tools, reducing dependence on specialists.
