India, July 27 -- Hirect Ltd (formerly Hind Rectifiers Ltd) has secured its first order for Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) trainsets from Modern Coach Factory (MCF), marking its entry into the next-generation railway systems segment.
The development order, valued at approximately Rs 60 crore, involves the supply of complete propulsion systems for four MEMU trainsets, including traction transformers, traction motors, integrated propulsion systems, and the Train Control and Management System (TCMS). The order is scheduled to be executed over 24 months.
