India, Aug. 18 -- Hindustan Zinc Limited has increased the contribution of renewable energy to 22% of its overall power consumption, up from approximately 18% in FY26, as the company accelerates its transition towards cleaner energy. It is targeting renewable sources to meet around 70% of its total power requirements by FY28 across its mining and smelting operations.
The company has continued to expand its renewable power capabilities across its operations in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. During FY26, Hindustan Zinc generated 892 million units of green power, compared with 632 million units in FY25.
