India, Aug. 28 -- Guar gum futures rose more than 3% in Friday's trade, supported by firm spot demand and increased buying by speculators.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), September guar gum contracts advanced Rs 426, or 3.48%, to Rs 12,679 per quintal, with an open interest of 45,720 lots.

The contract had settled at Rs 12,253 per quintal in the previous session.
