India, April 24 -- Guar gum prices fell on Friday, dropping Rs 22 to Rs 11,042 per quintal in futures trade as traders reduced their positions, tracking a weak trend in the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for May delivery declined by Rs 22, or 0.20%, to Rs 11,042 per quintal, with a trading volume of 51,990 lots.

Market participants attributed the fall to subdued demand in the spot market along with ample supplies from producing regions, which weighed on prices.
