India, Aug. 4 -- The Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening India's dairy and livestock sectors through investments in dairy infrastructure, breed improvement, entrepreneurship and animal health, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) informed the Lok Sabha.
The minister said no reports have been received indicating that dairy farmers are not getting remunerative prices due to the gap between milk procurement and retail prices, with procurement prices being determined by dairy cooperatives and private dairies based on market conditions.
