India, Aug. 12 -- Gold prices extended their rally for the seventh consecutive session on Wednesday, rising Rs 2,600 to Rs 1,59,800 per 10 grams in the national capital, supported by firm global trends and strong bullion demand.

According to the All India Sarafa Association, gold of 99.9% purity rose from Rs 1,57,200 per 10 grams on Tuesday to Rs 1,59,800, inclusive of all taxes.

Gold has gained Rs 12,400, or 8.4%, over the past seven sessions, climbing from Rs 1,47,400 per 10 grams on August 3.
