India, Aug. 26 -- Gold prices edged higher by Rs 115, or 0.07%, to Rs 1,62,997 per 10 grams in futures trading on Wednesday, supported by firm demand in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures for October delivery traded higher amid a business turnover of 674 lots.

Analysts attributed the uptick to fresh positions created by market participants, which supported prices of the precious metal.
