India, Sept. 18 -- Gold prices rose Rs 1,309, or 0.86%, to Rs 1,54,290 per 10 grams in futures trade on Friday, supported by firm spot demand and fresh positions created by market participants.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures for October delivery traded at Rs 1,54,290 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 2,156 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in gold prices to fresh positions built by market participants.
