India, Aug. 20 -- Gold prices rose Rs 264 to Rs 1,58,260 per 10 grams in futures trade on Thursday, supported by a sharp decline in the US dollar and firm global cues.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for October delivery gained Rs 264, or 0.17%, to Rs 1,58,260 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 10,450 lots.

Analysts said easing US Treasury yields and a weaker dollar boosted demand for the safe-haven asset. However, persistent inflation concerns, elevated crude oil prices and geopolitical tensions limited further gains in gold.
