India, July 13 -- Gold futures fell nearly 1 percent on Monday, with the August contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) declining Rs 1,413, or 0.98 percent, to Rs 1,42,065 per 10 grams.
The decline came as renewed military tensions between the US and Iran pushed crude oil prices higher and strengthened the US dollar, reducing the appeal of the precious metal.
The weakness follows last week's sharp correction, when MCX gold futures dropped Rs 3,900, or 2.65 percent, to settle at around Rs 1.43 lakh per 10 grams.
