India, July 27 -- The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has extended the Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana (ABVKY) for another year, from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, the government informed Parliament on Monday.
Under the scheme, insured persons covered under the ESI scheme are eligible to receive unemployment relief equal to 50% of their wages for up to 90 days, once during their lifetime.
Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje, in a written reply to the Lok Sabha, said the extension has been approved by the ESIC.
