India, July 6 -- Crude oil futures edged lower on Monday, with the July contract slipping Rs 7, or 0.11%, to Rs 6,561 per barrel on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).

The contract recorded a trading volume of 1,275 lots, as participants trimmed their positions amid weak global cues. Analysts said subdued demand in the spot market and profit booking by traders weighed on crude oil prices in futures trade.
