India, Aug. 21 -- Copper futures extended gains in Friday's trade, rising Rs 12.30 to Rs 1,390.70 per kg, as improved buying interest in the physical market encouraged traders to build fresh positions.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the September-delivery contract advanced 0.89 per cent, or Rs 12.30, to Rs 1,390.70 per kg, with 1,907 lots recorded in turnover.
Market analysts said increased participation and fresh bets by traders provided support to copper futures, keeping prices on an upward trajectory.
