India, Sept. 29 -- IT services firm Coforge Ltd has appointed former Bharti Enterprises Vice-Chairman Akhil Kumar Gupta as its Chairperson and Non-Executive Independent Director for a five-year term, effective September 29.
The appointment follows the abrupt resignation of former Chairman OP Bhatt on September 9, after an internal audit revealed that he had withheld a board evaluation report assigning his performance the lowest rating.
The developments triggered a decline of over 5% in Coforge shares, eroding more than ?4,400 crore in market capitalisation.
