India, July 14 -- The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has imposed a penalty of Rs 11.98 crore on HP India and a combined penalty of around Rs 2.30 crore on 16 of its resellers for indulging in anti-competitive practices in the sale and supply of printer consumables, including toner cartridges and other supplies.
The regulator found that HP India and the resellers engaged in cartelisation by seeking and submitting support or cover bids, violating the provisions of the Competition Act, 2002. CCI also directed HP India and the concerned resellers to cease and desist from such anti-competitive conduct.
