India, June 23 -- Bharti Airtel has increased its stake in Airtel Africa to around 79% from 62.73% through the acquisition of 595.2 million shares from ICIL.

The transaction, executed through a share-swap arrangement and valued at approximately Rs 28,200 crore, was completed on June 22, 2026. Following the deal, Bharti Airtel's effective holding in Airtel Africa has risen by 16.31 percentage points, further strengthening its ownership and control in the African telecom business.
