India, Sept. 28 -- Banking operations will continue as normal on Monday after bank unions called off their proposed three-day nationwide strike following assurances from the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) on their demands.
The strike, scheduled from September 28 to September 30, was called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).
The unions withdrew the strike late on Sunday after the IBA assured them that their demands, including declaring all Saturdays as holidays under a five-day banking work week, would be considered.
