India, May 18 -- Ashwini Vaishnaw virtually flagged off a new express train service between Bengaluru and Mumbai, aimed at improving rail connectivity between Karnataka and Maharashtra.
During the event, the Railway Minister said several long-pending railway demands of South and North Karnataka are now being addressed. He also announced that the Bengaluru–Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper service is expected to commence soon.
Highlighting railway infrastructure development in Karnataka, Vaishnaw said 61 stations are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at an investment of around ?2,160 crore, with work already completed at nine stations.
