India, May 26 -- Adani Green Energy (AGEL) has commissioned a cumulative 3.37 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Khavda, Gujarat, making it the world's largest single-location battery storage deployment outside China.

The company said the project was completed within 10 months of on-site construction commencement, making it one of the fastest utility-scale battery storage deployments globally. The latest commissioning includes 1.37 GWh capacity added in March 2026, taking AGEL's total operational BESS capacity at Khavda to 3.37 GWh.
