India, Aug. 20 -- The Aadhaar App has crossed 50 million, or 5 crore, downloads, highlighting the growing adoption of convenient and digital-first Aadhaar services among residents.
The app serves as a digital interface between residents and UIDAI, allowing Aadhaar holders to access services such as mobile number, address and email updates, biometric lock/unlock and e-Aadhaar downloads directly through their smartphones.
More than 60 lakh mobile number updates, over 15 lakh address updates and more than 23 lakh email updates have been completed through the app, reflecting rising preference for digital Aadhaar services without visiting an Aadhaar centre.
