India, July 7 -- The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the Uttar Pradesh Data Centre Policy 2026, a new framework aimed at attracting Rs 2 lakh crore in private investment and adding 2 Gigawatts (GW) of data centre capacity across the state. The policy replaces the 2021 Data Centre Policy, which expired earlier this year.

The policy, according to the announcement, is designed to strengthen Uttar Pradesh's position as a destination for digital infrastructure investment while supporting the growing demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure.
