India, Sept. 4 -- In a first-person blog post today, Jensen Huang announced one of Nvidia's boldest strategic moves yet - a USD 12.93 billion agreement to acquire Hugging Face.

But the best part of the announcement may not be the price. It is Huang's assurance that NVIDIA compute will not be required. In simple terms, he is saying that Hugging Face will not become an Nvidia-only platform. Developers should still be able to access its models, datasets and tools while using competing chips, clouds and infrastructure.
