India, April 14 -- TCS has launched an internal investigation into allegations emerging from its Nashik BPO unit, with Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran describing the matter as "gravely concerning and anguishing". The inquiry is being led by TCS COO Aarthi Subramanian, while the company says employees under investigation have been suspended and that it is cooperating fully with the police probe.
The case centres on a series of complaints from women employees at the Nashik facility. Police are investigating allegations of sexual harassment and coercive workplace conduct, with news reports saying that nine complaints have been filed.
