India, Aug. 13 -- N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, will step down from the position when his current term ends on February 20, 2027, after deciding not to seek another term at the helm of the Tata Group's holding company.

Chandrasekaran informed the Tata Sons board of his decision on Wednesday, August 12, following a prolonged delay over his reappointment. He has been Chairman of Tata Sons since 2017 and began his second five-year term in February 2022. Tata Sons' own corporate records confirm that his current term runs through February 20, 2027.

In a statement, Chandrasekaran said the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust had recommended a five-year extension of his tenure. The proposal was subsequently considered by ...
