India, Aug. 20 -- South Korea announced a 5 trillion won (about $3.5 billion) semiconductor investment fund targeting domestic chip materials, components, equipment makers, and fabless design firms. Announced by Presidential Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik, the package includes an additional 5 trillion won in trade finance and a 1 trillion won supplier cooperation program.
