India, Aug. 17 -- Oracle spent USD 55.7 billion on capital expenditure in fiscal 2026 as it accelerated the expansion of its cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. Over roughly the same period, its global workforce fell by about 21,000.

Now, another round of job cuts may be approaching.

Business Insider has reported that Oracle managers were asked to identify employees who could be affected by layoffs before September 1, the start of the company's fiscal second quarter. Oracle has not confirmed the reported cuts, and the number of employees who could be affected remains unclear.
