India, Sept. 28 -- Microsoft has introduced a new Copilot experience built around three capabilities, Home, Code and Autopilot. Together, they expand Copilot from answering questions and creating content towards building applications, handling delegated work and running persistent tasks without waiting for another prompt.

This also creates a new enterprise challenge. Longer-running AI agents consume resources differently from a chatbot generating a summary or drafting an email. Microsoft is consequently introducing usage-based billing for agentic workloads alongside new Financial Operations (FinOps) controls designed to help organisations track and manage AI spending.
