India, Sept. 22 -- At its AI Infrastructure Summit in New Delhi on September 21, 2026, Microsoft officially announced its newly launched India South Central datacenter region in Hyderabad as a strategic hub for Asia and the Global South. The Hyderabad region is Microsoft's fourth cloud region in India, joining three other regions in Pune, Mumbai and Chennai.

The expansion is an important step in Microsoft's overall investment plan of USD 20.5 billion to build computing power and digital infrastructure in India.
