India, May 1 -- Infosys has elevated Nitin Paranjpe as non-executive vice chairman, adding more strength to its board even as chairman Nandan Nilekani confirmed there is no change planned at the top.

The appointment takes effect immediately. Paranjpe, who is already on the board, will now work more closely with the chairman in guiding the board and the company's long-term direction. Nilekani made it clear that he will continue in his role and that there is no plan for a chairman transition.
