Google expands Gemini into education with free AI access for college students
India, Aug. 24 -- The role of AI in education is moving beyond answering questions and generating summaries. The next phase is about making AI part of how students prepare, practice, identify gaps, and organize their learning.
That shift is becoming more visible as technology companies build tools around specific learning needs rather than treating AI as a general-purpose chatbot. Google has been steadily moving in that direction, adding exam preparation, personalized lessons, quizzes, study notebooks, and classroom tools to Gemini.
