India, Aug. 21 -- Electric vehicles sit at the heart of India's transition towards cleaner mobility, with the government pushing for faster EV adoption as part of its broader sustainability and Net Zero 2070 goals. But, with the expansion of electric mobility, another material is becoming increasingly critical to this transition: copper!

Demand for EVs is rising rapidly. In the 80th Independence Day address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India sold around 25 lakh EVs in 2025-26, compared with about 1.5 lakh in 2009-10. The number highlights the rapid pace at which EV adoption is gaining momentum.
