India, Feb. 21 -- As the India AI Impact Summit 2026 closes in New Delhi, one of the sharpest debates to emerge is around the future of IT services, BPO and knowledge work in the age of AI.

During the summit, Vinod Khosla, founder of Sun Microsystems and Khosla Ventures, advanced a radical thought that IT services and BPO roles could vanish within five years, with AI tools taking over much of the work currently done by people. He also said that by 2030, traditional IT services and outsourcing would be replaced by AI-native services, and that by 2050, many expertise-led professions, including medicine, could face deep disruption.
