Waterfall gave way to agile. DevOps collapsed some of the distance between development and operations. CI/CD accelerated release cycles. Low-code and no-code platforms abstracted away parts of application development. Now agentic coding is pushing the industry towards another shift - one in which software can increasingly be planned, written, tested and modified by AI agents.
