India, Oct. 20 -- Anthropic has reduced the wait before Claude Code begins responding by compressing conversation data and starting cloud sessions earlier. The company reports a threefold improvement in local-session waiting time between August and October 2026.

In a post on X, its ClaudeDevs account said Claude Code now uses gzip to compress the conversation sent on every turn, helping it reach the model faster. Cloud sessions also begin starting up as soon as users start typing.
