India, Sept. 11 -- Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the economics of cyberattacks. The biggest shift isn't that AI can write malware or find vulnerabilities. Most frontier models have now developed the capability to coordinate long sequences of tasks, operate across multiple targets, process huge volumes of information, and continue working with limited human intervention. Anthropic's latest threat intelligence report titled Detecting and Countering Misuse of AI: September 2026 published yesterday (September 10, 2026), provides some of the clearest evidence yet of that transition.
