Agentic IT operations move closer to enterprise control
India, Aug. 19 -- Artificial intelligence (AI) is beginning to move from assisting IT operations to acting on enterprise infrastructure. As agentic AI develops, systems are being designed not only to detect problems and recommend fixes, but also to orchestrate workloads, change configurations, and execute operational tasks within defined guardrails.
The transition remains early. Capgemini Research Institute, in a survey of 1,500 senior executives across 14 countries, found that only 2% of organisations had deployed AI agents at scale and another 12% at partial scale. However, 23% were running pilots, and the study expects 15% of business processes to reach semi- or full autonomy over the following 12 months.
