Pakistan, Sept. 12 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged BRICS members to play a greater role in promoting peace in the Middle East. He made the remarks during a BRICS summit in New Delhi on Saturday. Xi said China would work with other members to support efforts toward peace. He argued that the ongoing war does not serve the international community's common interests. BRICS originally included Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The group later expanded to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
