Pakistan, April 17 -- The Lahore District Men's and Women's Weightlifting Championship commenced at the A.R.T Club, Ali Park, Fort Road, under the supervision of Lahore District Weight Lifting Association with collaboration of Walled City office.The event was inaugurated by Deputy Directors of Walled City, Madam Munazza and Asher, who graced the occasion as chief guests.

On the opening day, Wohaib Club Chuburji dominated the contests by clinching two gold medals. In the 60kg category, Sameer Khan lifted a total of 212kg to secure gold, while Aziz Sarwar 190 kgs (Hajvery Club) and Lal Ali 167 kgs (A.R.T Club) claimed silver and bronze respectively.
