Pakistan, July 26 -- France and Spain are battling unprecedented wildfires that have forced more than 250,000 people to evacuate. Firefighters are working to contain major blazes threatening communities near Bordeaux and Madrid.

In France, authorities deployed additional resources as a wildfire in the Gironde region moved closer to Bordeaux. President Emmanuel Macron mobilized the army, while firefighters used aircraft and helicopters to drop water and flame retardants.
