Pakistan, July 2 -- WhatsApp has rejected concerns raised by the Indian government over its upcoming username feature, saying the new system has been designed with safeguards to reduce fraud and identity impersonation.

The Indian government had urged the Meta-owned messaging platform to delay the rollout of the feature and explain how it would prevent scammers from exploiting usernames to impersonate public figures or deceive users.
