Pakistan, Sept. 21 -- Venice is considering raising its tourist entry fee to as much as €30, or around $34, as authorities seek to manage overtourism. City officials are also considering extending the fee to more days of the year. The proposed changes could take effect in 2027, subject to talks with the Italian government.

Budget and taxation councillor Michele Zuin said the current €5 to €10 charge no longer provides enough of a deterrent. He said the existing fee remains affordable for most visitors and may not help reduce crowds during busy periods.
