Pakistan, June 30 -- The death toll from Venezuela's devastating twin earthquakes has risen to more than 1,700 as emergency crews continue searching for survivors beneath collapsed buildings in the country's hardest-hit coastal regions.
According to the latest official figures, more than 5,000 people have been injured, while nearly 15,900 have been displaced by the powerful earthquakes that struck on June 24. Authorities also said over 22,600 people are receiving medical treatment, while the United Nations estimates that up to 68,000 people remain missing.
