Pakistan, Aug. 21 -- The United States (US) has threatened Iran with tougher sanctions and continued economic pressure. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Washington would impose the toughest sanctions in history. He linked the measures to efforts to reduce the need for major military operations. President Donald Trump also warned countries against supporting Iran. He threatened severe economic consequences for governments and businesses providing Tehran with financial support.
